CABARITA/NSW (July 14th/2018): The 2018 nudie Australian Adaptive Surfing Titles wrapped up today at Cabarita on the New South Wales North Coast after a day of outstanding action featuring the country’s best adaptive surfers.

Clean 1-2ft conditions greeted competitors for the start of competition this morning at the Cabarita Surf Club, allowing the field of more than twenty adaptive surfers to showcase their skills across a multitude of divisions.

Mark ‘Mono’ Stewart – 2018 AS 2 Division nudie Australian Adaptive Surfing Champion said: “This is the third nudie Australian Adaptive Surfing Titles on the Tweed Coast and it’s great to see company’s like nudie staying on board and supporting the adaptive surfing community. We have grown massively as a sport and in the end, it’s all about the ocean and its ability to heal and equalise. It makes you feel at home and I just love it.”

·         AS VI (AS-VIB1, AS-VIB2, AS-VIB3 – Visual Impairment) –   Matt Formston

 Sam Bloom – 2018 Women’s AS 5 division nudie Australian Adaptive Surfing Champion, explained how she goes about her business in the water: “I starting surfing when I was about five years old in primary school and I just use my weight to get over the inside rail, kind of like skating I guess.”

Jake White – Surfing Australia’s General Manager Partnerships, Digital And Events, said: “It’s great to see the adaptive spirit in full flight today at Cabarita. Surfing Australia is really supportive of the adaptive surfing pathway in Australia and we provide this outlet as a qualifier for Team Australia who then goes on to the world stage.”
